Rare Earth Magnets
Geomags (nice intro movie) are small magnetic rods and steel balls which you can use to build 3D objects. There are loads of copies on the market and I have some Versa-M from Spain and some official Geomag (which also seem to be called Supermag). I’ve also just noticed that they do come in 2 lengths which is something I was saying they should do but wasn’t aware existed (257mm and 144mm); I’ll have to find myself some of those I think. The reason for this rambling post was that I said to John that I’d made a dodecahedron from squares and triangles. Since he had a hard time picturing it in his head (maybe its not a dodecahedron after all) here are the pictures I took on my camera phone:
