IPCS

Since noone will tell you, anywhere, on any website, in the whole world, what the command is on AIX to view the status of interprocess communications, I’m blogging it here. I know its quite an esoteric thing to want to know but it annoys me every time I need to check them and can’t remember what the command is. In fact I might just add some web pages with a “collection of all the commands you hardly ever use, therefore always forget them, yet noone has ever put up a page that google can find to describe them to you from the obvious keywords you have typed”. That’s quite a catchy web site title actually. I think I’ll use that, not only is it descriptive but it’ll annoy all those people who expect something sensible to be added to their bookmarks description without them typing something memorable to themselves.

It ‘ipcs’ by the way. Just in case you got here when you were searching for meassage queues, semaphores or shared memory segments on AIX.
