Cartoons are great

Last night I watched Channel 4’s ‘100 Greatest Cartoons’ show. Whilst I don’t think anybody could disagree with the Simpsons being number 1 (If I just spoiled it for you then, as Jimmy Carr said on the show, you’re an idiot :) ), I do think there were some glaring omissions. Where was Mr Benn? Where was The Dreamstone: with a music score by Mike Batt, Ozzi Osbourne and Frank Bruno how could it fail? And probably most annoyingly for me is a sure fire top 10 cartoon of all time: The Big Knights. Luckily I stumbled on a VHS copy of The Big Knights in The Works recently, like most things you spend years searching for they turn up when least expected. It’s a pity they only ever released the first few episodes though :( .
