Driving to work

For some reason I was up and ready early this morning. It seemed like a prime opportunity to go to my “other house” and pick up post or maybe pack another box of goodies to fill the flat with. Unfortunately when I got in the car I noticed that I didn’t have enough petrol to get to Solihull and back which I plan to do later today. So off I head in the other direction to fill her up. After this the only sensible way to head to work is along Myton Road, the road with schools on, the one you probably want to avoid before 9am. So here’s a few tips for the other drivers I encountered this morning.

1) Indicators are supposed to be for indicating what you are about to do, not what you are in the middle of doing or what you have just completed. And if you drive a BMW you may find that they were an optional extra and you’ll have to go back to the dealer to get the lever fitted.

2) Those zig-zagged yellow lines outside of school gates aren’t drop-off points for your kids. They’re there to prevent you stopping on them as it causes another possible hazard for the other children. Yes, yours may not have to walk more than 2 yards (more on that in a sec) or cross a road but you’re putting other kids in danger. And you’re putting other road users in danger when you stop in such a no stopping zone without using your indicators (see point 1 above). Idiots.

3) Your kids are all fat, lazy, unfit slobs. Making them walk to school would actually do them some good. Try dropping them at the end of the road or something. Not only would they then get an ounce of exercise for a change, you also wouldn’t have to try to force your way back out of the school driveway into the massive queue of traffic you’re causing while moaning about the amount of cars on the road. Its your fault you imbeciles.
